Le 20 h - Empreinte Carbone - Elisabeth Badens (1).mp4Elisabeth Badens graduated as a Chemical Engineer (E.N.S.P.I.C.A.M., nowadays Ecole Centrale Mediterranee) in Marseille where she made there her doctor-engineer degree. She filed her habilitation in Chemical Engineering, as well at Aix Marseille University. She currently has a position of Full Professor (exceptional class) at Aix Marseille University.
Prof. Badens is currently in charge of the group “Processes & Supercritical Fluids” of the Laboratory M2P2 (Mécanique, Modélisation et Procédés Propres ), UMR CNRS 7340, and has been President of the International Society for the Advancement of Supercritical Fluids (ISASF) from 2014 to 2022. Her expertise is focused on processes using supercritical carbon dioxide applied to the development of innovative products and materials mainly applied to pharmaceuticals and medical devices as well as to the energy field.
She is the Director of the first year of the Master's Degree in Process Engineering and Bioprocessing, at Aix Marseille University since September 2024 and an elected member at the French National University Council since October 2023.
She has joined the Journal of Supercritical Fluids as Associate Editor in 2018 and she is now Editor-in-Chief of the Journal. Moreover, she has performed more than a hundred reviews for this Journal during the last four years. She also performed numerous reviews for other International Journals.
She is frequently involved in the organization of international congresses (14th European Meeting on Supercritical Fluids, Marseilles-France, 2014; 15th European Meeting on Supercritical Fluids, Essen-Germany, 2016; 16th European Meeting on Supercritical Fluids, Lisboa-Portugal, 2017; 17th European Meeting on Supercritical Fluids, Ciudad Real-Spain, 2019; 18th European Meeting on Supercritical Fluids, Bordeaux-France, 2021; 13th International Symposium on Supercritical Fluids, Montréal-Canada, 2022; 19th European Meeting on Supercritical Fluids, Budapest-Hungary, 2023; 20th European Meeting on Supercritical Fluids, Maribor-Slovenia, 2024).
She is often invited to give talks on supercritical fluids during meetings and she gave a TEDx talk “The clean Factory exists!” in Marseilles in April 2021.
Lastly, Prof. Badens has been Visiting Professor at the University of Alberta (Edmonton, Canada) during the academic year 2022-2023.
